Mike signed a 1-year lease for an apartment in Panorama City. The unit is a 1-bd apartment with an outdoor balcony. The lease expires on Sep 17, 2023 and convert to a month-to-month rental agreement upon approval by the landlord. Either party can terminated the agreement thereafter by submitting a written 30-day notice to the other party. If tenancy exceeds one year, the landlord must provide a written, 60-day notice to terminate.
Mike cannot break the current lease. Before moving, he has to contact his Public Housing Authority Rep, Craig, about his intentions to move to another city in advance. If the city is outside the Craig’s jurisdiction, there is paperwork to do plus an initial meeting with the new rep (more delays) before the move can take place.
